Chuwee is almost 2 and a half pounds at twelve weeks. So I dont think he is going to be a big boy. I read somewhere that at twelve weeks you take the weight and double it, and that is approx. what they will weigh full grown. Anyone heard of that before?

yeah, thats actually a really good way to figure out how big your chi will be...

my scooter is 3.5pds. he is 1yr. old and thats it , he wont gain anymore weight. i love him this small. he is so easy to carry around.i also have a doggie stroller for when we go on long ,long walks, and he also has a doggie carrier that goes in front of your chest. he just loves it.
. i love talking to you all about chi. hes the love of our family. feel feel to write to me any time.:)

my chi, is 14monthsold and he weighs 3.5pds. he is so precious. hes the smartest dog i know. we just give him unconditional love. he speaks to us , he also lets us know when he wants his biscuit, he doesnt beg. we give him massages, now he comes to us and speaks to let us know he wants a massage. he can pick out numerous toys, wether its his baby,bunny, doggie, kitty, ball, football,frisbee, . i could just go on and on. its incrediable!!!he even wears sun glassess and leaves them on.he loves his walks, bike rides and his walks. im just so proud of him!!

Our guys are only 7 weeks and we are picking them up Sunday the Dec. 24th. Can't wait. Cisco is the runt and now weighs in at 1 pound 10 ounces. Poncho is largest of the brewd and now weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces.

When we brought home our boys and I reported their weights (12/21/06) , they have aged and grown. Now almost 12 weeks Poncho is now 4Lbs,12 ounces and Cisco is 3 Lbs,9 ounces. Amazing how well behaved they are .
My understanding is that at this age you can figure doubling their present weights to get at a full grown weight and size. Their mother is 10 pounds and the father is 6 pounds so this maybe a good rule of thumb.

Howdy 'all;
Just got back from the vet (Poncho has had some digestive problems and we wanted to make sure it wasn't a medical issue, which is isn't). He weighed both boys with a digital scale (much more accurate than our bathroom scale). Poncho weighed in at 5lbs 4oz and Cisco jumped up to 4 lbs 2 oz. The wife carefully monitors and records the type of food (a formula of 1/8 Innova puppy food, 1/2 boiled white rice, 1/4 boiled chicken breast, 1/8 yogert, plus vitamins) the quanity of food and regulates the feeding time.
Poncho is gonna be larger than his daddy for sure.

My chihuahua weighs 7.5 lb but was only 7lb then put on a diet as well as myself. He gained 1lb and I gained 10. hehe He now is 7.5lb. He has a different mother than his other siblings and they do not weigh over 4lb.

We have two chihuahuas who are the parents of 4 very beautiful babies, two males and two females.

The father, Tino, is 4lbs and he is just over a year old. He should probably be 4.5 but we can't get the skinny little guy to ever gain any weight.

Pogo, the mother, is 6 lbs. She'll probably gain some once we have her spayed after the babies are weaned. But we'll be very watchful of her weight.

We are keeping one of their sons, who is a unigue gold color, not the red-brown of his parents. He'll probably be between 4 and 6 lbs. I'll update with his weight at 12 weeks. He's not even half way there :P

Cinderella is 8.10 lbs last time she went to the vet. She does not look like it because most of it is all muscle. She is vary active with agility and will be competing soon. So I say that she is all muscle!:)

Lexi is 2.8 lb and so is Patches. However, Lexi was very small as a baby--she was only 6 ounces at 8 weeks of age, and at 13 weeks was a pound and three ounces. I'm not complaining, I'd like her to be 3-4 lb full grown (which is what Patches is charting right now).

Poncho is one year old last week and now weights in at 18 pounds!!!!!!!! His brother Cisco is 8 pounds. Both parents weighed in at 7 pounds and 10 pounds. We have seen the pictures and records of their lineage , and none come even close to Poncho's size. We call him the little Rotweiller because of his size and coloring. The breeder is speachless.
