I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Debbie and my family and I just adopted a 4 (almost 5) year old chihuahua named Izzy (Isabella).
My parents had a couple of chihuahuas when I was growing up and I have always loved the breed. My daughter is a teenager and she has been wanting a chihuahua for quite some. Shortly after the first of the year I stopped in at a local rescue and found Izzy. My husband and I went back later in the day and adopted her.
It has been quite challenging, but things are getting better. Izzy is not housebroken, she is a biter, and has had quite a few health issues. After six vet visits in as many weeks, she is starting to feel better. She is coming out of her shell a little more each day. She no longer wants to hide in her crate, but prefers to be carried around like a little princess!
In addition to Izzy, we have two pugs and a senior cat. I joined this group as I know that we will have questions. I look forward to talking with all of you!
