I did a search before asking this cause I know most forums frown upon reasking questions. I was just wondering what brands of food & treats everyone uses.
I recently switched from purina one to wellness about 2 weeks ago & my guys are loving it. For treats they get pup-corn, snausages, canine carryouts, & a assortment of hard bones.

i feed less grains to my dogs as well. mine are all on a combination diet of raw and/or innova evo. evo is high in protein which many dogs do well on as many have and do develop allergic reactions to grains.

Does anyone have any recommendations for feeding a 3 1/2 month old barely 2 lb chi with a TINY mouth and muzzle. I have been beating Wellness kibble up with a hammer and she even refuses it. Please help. Any feeding advice appreciated.

That's basically what we are feeding now...a canned meat in gravy from Merrick. I just feel like she should have something harder for her teeth. Problem is, finding it
Thanks for all the help...

Does she attempt to eat at all? My Samson acts like he is still hungry even if he does eat and we feed him a high end dog food. I asked my vet if he could still be missing something and my vet said he was trying to train us because he knows there is "better" food out there and if he holds out long enough we will give him that. By the way my Samson is 2.6 lb.s and he is 3 months old today!!!!

She does attempt to eat, and will pick at what we put out for her. We had the food the breeder gave us, she refused it. Tried her on Wellness canned, refused, finally ate a few bites. Merrick canned, will pick at it, but not very interested. Was more interested in that than anything else, but now her interest has faded...even tried a few varieties, no better. I have pulverized, for lack of better terminology, Solid Gold, Wellness Puppy, Innova EVO, Bil-Jac (didn't need to kill that!!) Merrick dry, ProPac, and so far, no takers. She has picked at the EVO, but it takes her FOREVER to eat one kibble. As bad as I am afraid of raw diet, I am seriously considering it. The vet says that it is very nutritionally dense and since she cannot bite the kibble pieces, the raw diet would still keep her teeth clean. Any other thoughts of wisdom??? Thanks again

What is a raw diet? When we first got our Samson he was only 5 wks old. We feed him Nutro lamb and rice for puppies. We would mix the dry with the gravy pouch for puppies and he could eat it better. How about ttreats? I had been told they have the nutrition that dogs need (not by a vet mind you) and they have a HUGE selection of those that are soft. I am sorry for no better answers this is the first puppy we ever had. By the way is Ginger potty trained? We are having a hard time training Samson. If I remember right they are about the same age. Samson was born August 10th of this year.

Raw diet, or BARF, is also called biologically appropriate raw food diet for dogs. I do not know a whole lot yet, but have been doing some reading on the subject. I had a vet in the town where we used to live that swore by it and even raised cattle to sell that were hormone free, grain fed, whatever, so that they would be the "best" for the animals. Prices were good too!! Basically, it is raw meat and bones with some veggies added and is served raw to the animal, whether it be dog or cat. Vitamin/mineral supplements are added to the prepackaged diets and are nutritionally complete. They say the dogs are healthier, have less disease/health issues, less poop, better coat and skin and better teeth that rarely if ever need cleaning. I don't know yet, I hardly eat meat myself so it is a stretch for me!! ;) But , if she can eat it and it will keep her teeth clean and provide for her nutritionally, I say I will give it a chance!! It is expensive, but so is feeding the neighbor dogs all the stuff she rejects!
As for pottly training, she is about 50/50. We are living with my parents while out house if finished being built, so as long as my mom doesn't remove/move her pads she is OK. But, considering the fact that they are constantly being relocated, she is about 50/50. She used to have accidents at night on the bed  but we have stopped that. Whenever I wake up, I placed her on th pad and she does her business and then back to bed. Sometimes she will wake me when she is ready.
Good luck with the potty business and thanks for the advice.

I am currently feeding my chihauhau a raw diet. He's only been on it a few day, but he seems happier, and is quite accepting of it.
I'm feeding him Chicken with grated carrot and plain yoghurt. Once he's used to that I will add organ meat.
I went to this website, and it had lots of good info:
