Just stopping in to say hello and tell a little about myself. I have had chihuahuas almost all my life. (over 40 years I have a whole passle of them now.:D
I have a small kennel of chihuahuas but plan to close it soon mainly because there just doesn't seem to be a market for chihuahuas. Not in my area anyway. I don't have any current plans to rehome my adults,, just adopt out the babies. Jolie, Jenna, Maddie and Gunnar are the names of a few of my permanent resident babies.
I tried to post pictures but it wouldn't work.

Awww, I just got my first ever Chi on Saturday, I love her. The Breeder gave her to me a bit young but she is getting used me as well as I am getting used to her. What would you say the appropriate age is for shots?

I give shots at 8 weeks UNLESS the mom wasn't up to date on her shots. I recently had to hand raise a puppy from birth and he never got to nurse his mom (she died) so he had no immunity from his mother. I consulted with my vet and he was given his first shot at 3 weeks. :)

I have used pedialyte at times when a pup or even a grown dog was getting dehrydrated. But your baby will get some fluids with the formula you are mixing with the canned food. Just watch for the tenting of skin. As long as the puppy is playful and peeing often, I wouldn't worry. :)

she is verrry playful and pees regularly so I guess she is right on track.
