Need Help!

My chi is 7 months old. We got him 3 months ago and he is still scared of my dad!! he is obviously wary of strangers, but that fades. But he still barks and tries to bite him. He is the most animal loving person you could meet! what could be up? or it could just be a man thing since he barks at every man?

I have found out with our dogs is they pick up on what your feeling. Our big dogs are very protective of my wife. They love women but are very Leary of men. We have groomed our dogs to be wary of men. I like this because one of there jobs is to protect my wife. We have never trained them in any way to do this, but they have picked it up because that is how I am. Hope this helps you. Nate

Here is how you fix this problem.


1 Place a shirt your dad has worn that is sweaty and full of his scent under his food and water dishes. This way the scent is associated with good things.

2 Only dad can give the dog special treats, this further associates dad with the good life.

3 Dad should be the one to walk the dog, and take him on car rides to the park to play. Again associating him with good things.

Dad should also sit quietly in the same room with the dog and not get angry with the dogs reaction. It is most likely fear not agression. The more fearful the more agressive the reaction.
