Hello, we are planning on getting a companion for our soon to be neutered male Tucker a chihuahua/terrior mix. I am a bit concerned. on how he'll deal with it. Are there any tips? What will I do with crate training when we bring her home and Tucker decides he wants her to sleep with us? Unfortunatly we didn't use the crate for long. We got him at 2 months and by 3 1/2 4 mos he was sleeping with me...the spoiled little boy he is and is misrable while crated. And does anyone have any recomondations for a reputable breeder in my area?

Also I have heard that if you have a furbaby(I love that term) of one gender and you want to add another addition you should go with one of the opposite sex is it true?

Hi,
It is always best to introduce the pups outside the home, maybe at a park. Dogs will defend their territory and if they meet a strange dog there first it could be a battle.
Gender is really not a factor as dogs live in packs and there are both make and female in the pack. Their personality is a deciding factor. If your dog and the new pup are both dominant, you may end up with two dogs that will attack each other. If only one is dominant there will be no problem.
