beach flea

Hi everybody,
I have just discovered this site and I find it quite interesting although I haven't yet explored it thoroughly.
I have a problem with my adorabe chi called Gizmo. We often go to the beach and each time he comes back itching all the time . Somebody told me it was the beach flea... Has anybody ever heard about that?

The only beach fleas live in the sand and will not bite dogs. It could be sand in the coat or some chemical in the water that is causing the itching.

Be sure to wash the doggie before going home to remove anything that could be irratating the skin.
