This looks a lovely forum with some experienced people on board and I wonder if I may pick your brains with a dozen or so questions?
A little about myself first, I moved to Norway from the UK in May 2006 to be with my new partner. We live in Rissa which is very rural, on an old farming property so we have a very quiet life with lots of land.
2 days before I arrived the old farm cat birthed a pair if native norwegien forest kittens, I say this as they are natives, in Norway and we live near a forest :) also Rebel is long haired and looks the part, his brother fudge is short haired and doesn't but what the heck they are adorable. I do not work as I do not speak the language and therefore have invested a lot of time in my boys and it shows, they are very special which brings me to chihuahua's.
I once met a handsome black chihuahua on holiday in France, his personality was so large i have no idea how it fit in his tiny frame, this was many years ago but I remember him always and am now in a position to share our home with a new puppy, chihuahua being my first choice.
If you managed to stick with me after that lot maybe you can help:-
Norway seems to have only a very few breeders who are a long way away I am therefore considering importing.
Is this bad for the puppy? it seems accepted practise but gosh it might be a long stressing journey.
How do i go about finding a good breeder who will export a puppy to an unseen new home?
Will the puppy have a passport so he can travel to the UK on return trips with us?
Do any of you have close links to any European breeders who may export puppies to Norway therefore making for a shorter trip?
I thank you for any suggestions you may have

Wow that sounds tricky. For one getting a dog that you don't actually interact with when you meet it, the other being the fact that the puppy will be without human interaction for some time. It might be worth the trip...seeing as how you don't have employment. Perhaps you could use a train? I know that the public transport in other countries is way better then it is here in America and therefore might be a better option rather trying to bring a dog in from out of country.
