Hi everyone, my wife and I just took in a wonderful chihuahua and were wondering what is the best food for him? The breeder recommended IAMS puppy food, but I was reading about whole foods and Wellness dog food seems to be one of the best. I was reading the main ingredient in most dog foods is corn, while these whole foods have chicken and other proteins as the main ingredients.
Also, how much exercises to Chi's need on a daily basis? How much food should be fed daily? This morning he just ate 8-10 small pellets of IAMS puppy food. Also we are definitely considering neutering him, how old or at what weight would be the best time to do this? He is currently 8-9 weeks old and weighs about 1-2lbs. Is there a best time/age to put him through this process?
Also I just ordered Frontline Plus Orange and HeartGuard for small dogs, a bit late to ask, but are these safe products considering his small size. The vet said they are ok, but seeing they are for 22lbs and under and he is 1-2lbs, should I split the dosage in 1/2 or 1/4?
