[News] Chihuahua Saves Baby From Rattlesnake

MASONVILLE, Colo. - Zoey is a Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, she was a real bulldog.

Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents' northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.

"She got in between Booker and the snake, and that's when I heard her yipe," said Monty Long, the boy's grandfather.

The dog required treatment and for a time it appeared she might not survive. Now she prances about.

"These little bitty dogs, they just don't really get credit," Booker's grandma Denise Long told the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.

I saw that on the news and was amazed. How brave little Chi. I'm glad he survived too!!!

I swear that my chi would do the same, she is to aware or whats going on and lets all know about it.. My boyfriend has a bearded dargon and zoe and him hang out when he is out of his cage.. His sisters friend was over with her baby and she was playing in the same room she started to choke on something and zoe ran and jumped around and ran back to her.. We were all so happy that she did.. the baby was alright but it was scary..

Brought tears to my eyes, especially since we lost our precious Spike to, what the vet thinks was, distemper. Chihuahuas rock!!

I read that story earlier. I thought it was awsome.
