Hi, I am new here
I am going to adopt a little girl chi (2 months old) but I wonder if I should get her a friend? Is 2 chi better than one?
I work home, but travel often
I dont know much about chis. I dont know if they get bored easily or always want human attention. I already have 3 ferrets and one cat.
Any one had the same experience?

[[I got my chihuahua from my mom for she is a breeder]]
I originally had one, Nina. My mom bred her and sold all the puppies. But some lady gave one of the puppies back, and I took it. So I now have Nina and her daughter, Chloe.
They are both between 5-7 years old.
They don't really interact, or play with each other, ever. I've never seen them do anything.
Though, they do follow each other all day, and sleep together, they don't play together. They kinda do their own thing.
I don't think it is necessary for you to get a buddy, unless of course, you want to. If you don't, just make sure it has toys to play with and chew on.
I wonder if it just depends on the personality of the dog. Because my dogs are spoiled, and they are glued to me. So they might think of me as their playmate and not each other.
I'm not sure on the psychology.
Good luck with your decision! :):)

thank you so much for your answer! I'm gonna go with one dog. With my cat and ferrets, I think its gonna:) be plenty enough

I think its a personal decision if you want 1 or 2 chis. Some dogs are fine by themselves & others like someone to play with all day. My chi was alone for proboly 4 years & them I got a basset hound mix & he enjoyed playing with her & then when my chi was 6 I decided to get another chi at first my older chi hated the new puppy but now they are the best of friends & play together alot they also sleep together from time to time. My whole pet family includes 3 dogs & 2 cats.

Two Chis are better than one, one is better than none! :D
Although it really does depend on the personality of the dog. When we got Lexi, we already had two cats, a Cocker Spaniel X Poodle, a guinea pig, and a hamster but what she really needed was the company of another Chi. So I got her her best friend from the breeder's, Patch. Patch does bully Lexi a bit sometimes but Lexi can hold her own.

My sister got my dog Marble, a min pin mix, about a year ago. For a long time she was the only dog, and she was very destructive. When we brought her to my house, with my german shepherd and late pomchi, she calmed down a lot and stopped destroying things. I think, personally, that dogs act better behaved if there are more than one. They are, afterall, pack animals.
