Getting a female chihuahua when I already have a male?

Hi, I have a male chihuahua who is now 8 months, and I really would like to breed him. He has great lines and is a good chihuahua. I wanted to get a female myself, but I was wondering If i get her and he is not spayed, could anything happen? I wouldnt want to endanger her because I know he is not spayed and of course she is a female.. if anyone has any infomation or has gone threw it please let me know!
