Vicious Chi puppy

I have a 9 weeks old chi puppy given to me by my brother in law who breeds chi's. I give her love, speak calmly at her but for some reason she does not like to be petted on the back of her head and back area. We had her checked out at the vet nothing is wrong, she's not in pain. What am I doing wrong? How do I get her to overcome growling and being snappy?

Oh Kanani is doing much better, thank you for checking on me:) She is not so uptight but I have learned her mood swings, when she is tired she gets cranky and needs to get put on her bed. After a power nap she's as good as new:p
How old are you chi's? Are they moody at times too?

No, not at all! Chikis is 6 years old and he is always in a good mood wagging his tail and barking at every single person he sees passing by. He goes to the front bedroom, and watches every one jogging or walking and by barking I think he thinks he is scaring them away. It can be anoyying sometimes, but oh well! he is my big baby. Chikis is the only Chihuahua I have. The other one is a yorkie and he is a sweetie pie he is the sweetest dog, he just wants to by me and he just wants to give you kisses. Sorry, but the answer is not, neither one of them is moody:p

Wow that is very cool. We also have Kanani's big brother Koa and he sounds kind of like your dogs, laid back and barks at attention when dogs or people go passing through our front or backyard and he is very loving. He loves to be on my lap and sratch his tummy:D I thought having a female, training would be easier, but in all honesty with her it's a bit challenging. She loves taking vitamins...I guess that's a plus because with Koa I have to bribe him with a treat before and after he chews it down:p Thank you for sharing your dogs with me:)

Thank you Dixie! I just luv her, she really tries to keep up with her brother who is a year old...she runs with her butt tucked in for SPEED:p While I was putting my Halloween decorations up they were playing chase master in the yard, so cute:D
How old is your chi? Any similarities?

lsedeno, have you ever heard of the dog whisperer? he knows alot about dogs and he has some DVDs out that you can buy. I have listened to his DVDs and from what you said maybe he is being vicious because he doesn't see you as his "pack leader" and therefore doesn't feel like he should submit to you??? Dont know if this helped,
