Got a 2nd Chihuahua, please help!

Hello,

My mom has had a long haired female chihuahua for 2 years now. She gets along great with our two cats, besides the odd jelousy thing here and there. She is not fixed because my mom wanted to one day breed her.

Recently, we picked up a short haired male chihuahua who is also not fixed. He is 1 year old in February.

We made the mistake of introducing them inside the apartment and not outside, mainly because of how cold it was outside the day that we brought him home. Its only been one day, but so far our female doesnt seem to like him at all. She snaps and growls at him, especially when we are petting her and he gets in the way.

He wants attention 24/7 and as soon as we pet our female chihuahua
he is right in there too. He doesnt snap or growl at her at all though. It is only her who snaps and growls.

At one point earlier today they played for a few minutes...but right afterwards it went back to the snapping and growling.

In time will this just get better? Is there anything that we can do to help ease this along? Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

They are starting to tolerate eachother but is there any way to help make them LIKE eachother?

i also have a male and female chihuahua.......baily is very jealous of trinity, and i dont think they will change..........trinity has tataly changed she doesnt have the spunkyness she used to, its like she tries to show bailey that shes the mature one and no longer plays puppy............they do stay together in the same cage, and it hasnt caused any fustration.........they actually want to be in their cages all the time w/ each other............its when their out w/ mommy and daddy that they start getting to be a handful..........;) :cool:
