Hey I was wondering if there was any breeders on here or someone who is really familiar with the breed. I just finished getting a chi pup yesterday at the puppy store they told me its from a breeder in Oklahoma after purchasing the pup and going home to play with him i noticed that he has fuly devoloped front paws but his back paws are different. The small pinky finger on one back leg is very loose and he doesnt even have the small pinky on the other leg, its basically not there or I assume never developed. Is this something I should be concerned about. Any help will be grateful Thanks.

I believe you shoud get your money back and return the pup. I know it may be hard but you paid for a healthy full bred pup. You should get your money back and look for a great reputable breeder. I can help you find a breeder in your area if you want...

I also forgot to mention to please don't go to a pet store to but a pup from again. It would be better to find a reputable breeder and you wouldn't be supporting a puppy mill at the same time. If you can see the deformity then they could, too. But if they still tried to sell the pup then that shows their shadiness

That is what happens when you get puppies from pet stores. I feel bad for the puppy. This is what I would do, but of course "I" would do this: I wouldn't take the puppy back because I would think that he would be safer with me now than taking him back to the petstore cause you know they are going to sell it again and then he comes to a new house and the poor little thing would be traumatized from going from place to place. Anyways, I would take him to the vet and see what we can do about those paws and if he says that it's something that won't affect the puppy in the long run I wouldn't even worry about the paws.
Once again that is what I would do. Everybody is different.
Bless her heart poor little thing.:(

Are you talking about the outermost toe, or the dewclaw? If it's the hind dewclaws I wouldn't worry too much about it, those can be removed when he gets neutered. My dog's 1/2 brother has one very loose hind dew and none on the other leg. If you could take a picture for us it'd be great.
