dry skin

my shelbie has dry skin and is scratching at it so bad that she is starting to thin out in hair in those spots ... what can i do i think there is a kind of oil i can get to mix with her food but i dont know what its called or where to get it can somebody please help me out.... my little girl is a diva and i cant have her looking anything other than perfect.:confused:

You probobly want to take her to the vet and make sure she doesnt have allergies that she made need medication for or mange. My boxer had demadectic mange when she was a pup and her skin was dry and itchy and the hair fell out in little spots. After a few treatments it was fine and all the hair grew back. I hope thats not what it is but you want to take her to the vet to be sure ;) . Otherwise you might just need some really good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I hope you find out and she get better

My Mom's mini schnauzer used to scratch a lot also, we switched her to a better all natuarl food and that seems to have really helped, but you probably want to take her to the vet.
