Well I went out and got my Chihuahua puppy today! It's a little boy, we still have no name for him! He's adorable! But he's so scared of everything. But right now I'm just letting him be by himself and adjust! He has eaten a little and that's about it! He needs a bath too, but the breeder said that today was bath day there but she didn't give him a bath because then when I came to get him he would have to go out in the cold and she didn't want to bath him and then have him outside in the cold. So now I have a scared little baby that needs a bath. He's a little love bug though and will sit on my lap for hours! He's 12 weeks old and I'm not sure about his weight, I'll try and weigh him on my bathroom scale once he's adjusted! Any advice for this newbie mommy would greatly apprieciated!

Congratulations!!!!!!! Just make sure he eats every few hours since little chihuahuas can have hypoglycemia the first 6 months. Having them eat every 3-4 hours will take care of that! Good luck! I cant wait to see pictures:) Tink sends puppy kisses!

Here is a pic of my new baby. He still has no name!! Any suggestions????

I tried to weigh him on my bathroom scale but it's only reading 1lb? I don't know if that's accurate, or I just don't think that he's that little! Either way for the time being, I'll say he's a pound because that's the only weight I have for him. I've been trying to get him to eat, but he's just not interested. He will eat the canned food better than the dry food. The breeder told me to soak his kibble in water and feed him that twice a day and then leave dry kibble out with water all day in between. I have been, but I have to litterally bring him to the food and sit there for at least a half and hour just to get him to eat a little bit. He is very attached to me already and if I'm out of his sight he starts whining. I really love holding and loving on him, but I don't want him to have any seperation anxiety. Also when I do put him down he just kind of sits in one spot and doesn't really want to move around. I think he's too scared to move. I know it's only the second day home, do you think he will adjust and get used to things over time? I'm just concerned, as you all probably understand. He's my first puppy so I'm very new to all of this.

You puppy is adorable. I AM JEALOUS I WANT A PUPPY :p You should name him chase. He looks like a chase to me. well, It took my boxer two weeks to start eating really good. You doing fine as long as he eats something. remember his tummy is small and he may require several little meals. LOTS OF WATER SO HE DOESNT GET DEHYDRATED.

Hey shana i didnt no you were a boss around here. How penny doing.

Thanks guys! I have narrowed it down to two names, Chili, or Charlie! Both his parents had "C" names so I thought I would carry that down to him. His mom's name was Candi, and Dad's name was cutter. This is really hard!

Well thanks for the suggestion. We are going to call him Chili! I'm not exactly sure that's the perfect name. But the poor thing needs a real name already!!! So Chili it is!!!
