From what I have read, you do not want to give them Cod Liver Oil, but Fish Oil and Vitamin E are good for Dandruff and Dry Skin. I have read that you can give them Sardines to get the Fish Oil if you don't want to use a supplement. There is also Missing Link that you can get at Petsmart that is a supplement. You should probably ask your vet first though. I am sure they would be happy to recommend something for you :)

While this may be good for their coasts, it's HORRIBLE for the rest of their bodies. The gravy/oil in the Whiskas is full of fat and calories, which causes everything from obesity to diabetes to pacreatits.

The BEST way to get a soft, shiny coat is good nutrition, paired with proper grooming. A good, soap free, oatmeal shampoo bath once a week AT THE MOST, and a cream rinse if you'd like, followed by a good brushing with keep the dirt from building, and the spread the natural oils over the coat. Supplement can help if you feed a lower quality food, like Kibble's and Bits. But if you feed Science Diet, or Eukanuba, you shouldn't need supplements at all.

If your stiil looking for an at-home remedy, try a little bit of plain, scrambled egg once or twice a week. The oils in egg can help with the coat condition.
